Dear colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the second joint conference of the Government Veterinary Surgeons network and the Association of Government Veterinarians to be held in Cardiff in June 2008.
The Office of the Chief Veterinary Officer of the Welsh Assembly Government will be our hosts in 2008 and we are looking forward to some special Welsh hospitality
Dates: Wednesday 18 June & Thursday 19 June 2008
Venue: Cardiff University
The Conference theme for 2008 will be 'Positive Partnerships: Positive Impact' .
The theme and the key presentations will highlight the positive impact of the veterinary role in working in partnership across government and with stakeholder communities. There will be workshop opportunities to share experiences and good practice as well as explore new partnership opportunities. Masterclasses will allow participants to increase their knowledge and key skills to support policy, operational and assurance roles – particularly in relation to managing risks and considering the impact of policy and operational decisions across our diverse work areas.
The conference will include a tour of the new home of the Welsh Assembly Government – the Senydd building on the evening of 18 June followed by a drinks reception. This will be followed by the conference dinner at the Millennium Centre.
The AGV will also hold its Annual General Meeting just prior to commencement of the conference and further details will be available shortly.
Please pencil the above dates in your diary.
Further details of the conference will be posted on our websites.
